In Mongolia, Korean jajangmyeon has gained popularity by being served in its original form, without any local adaptations.

BGF Retail, the operator of the convenience store CU, launched jajangmyeon, ramen, and carbonara pasta in Mongolia in December last year, under a global noodle concept.
Among them, jajangmyeon captured the taste buds of local consumers, surpassing 80,000 units in sales within three months of its launch.
This translates to an average of over 1,700 units sold per day.
Considering the limited variety of Mongolian cuisine, the success of jajangmyeon can be attributed to its authentic Korean, Japanese, and Italian flavors.
A CU spokesperson stated that "Mongolian consumers' interest in Korean cuisine has been fueled by Korean dramas and K-pop." They added, "We plan to introduce a wider range of Korean dishes to continue captivating local palates."
The popularity of Korean jajangmyeon in Mongolia reflects the growing interest in Korean culture, along with a heightened desire for delicious food.
It is expected that CU will expand its market share in Mongolia by introducing more Korean food in the future.
