CU, a convenience store chain operated by BGF Retail, launched jajangmyeon, ramen, and carbonara pasta under the concept of global noodle dishes after entering the Mongolian market in December last year.

Among them, jajangmyeon captured the taste buds of local consumers, exceeding 80,000 units sold in just three months after its launch.

This translates to an average of over 1,700 units sold per day.

Considering the limited variety of Mongolian cuisine, the success of the sales is attributed to the faithful reproduction of the original flavors of Korean, Japanese, and Italian dishes.

A CU official stated, "Mongolian consumers' interest in Korean food has been growing due to their exposure to Korean dramas and K-pop." They also added, "We plan to continue introducing a wider range of Korean dishes to capture the palates of local consumers."

The popularity of Korean jajangmyeon in Mongolia indicates a growing interest in Korean culture and a heightened desire for delicious food.

It is expected that CU will expand its market share in Mongolia by introducing even more Korean food in the future.
